Project Details
The Children’s Activity Center is a facility that the church has been planning for over five years. A+B helped along the way with conceptual estimates for various concepts. Ultimately, the multi-purpose concept utilizing a gymnasium with the ability to flex to dining or auditorium type space was determined to be the most useful for the campus.
The structure consist of shallow spread foundations, concrete retaining walls, steel columns with clear span beams, CMU walls, metal roofing and wall panels. The space also includes a commercial kitchen, classrooms and gang bathrooms. The pastor wanted something fun for the younger children and came up with the idea of a slide from the upper entrance down to the gym floor. This feature was custom built to be incorporated into the available space without impacting other areas. The stage allows the church to host children’s performances or concerts with seating laid out on the gymnasium floor to accommodate a large audience.
