Project Details
This was an extremely fast-paced Design+Build project for a medical client that we’ve worked with for 20+ years. The client’s goal was to build the areas’ first comprehensive cancer center and to have the areas’ first physician owned radiation oncology suite. AO Multispecialty Clinic engaged our team to help find a location suitable for this new facility and then to get it designed and built as quickly as possible. After finding a suitable location, we were given less than a month to present the client with a schematic design and schematic cost estimate to determine the viability of the project. Once authorized and the client acquired the property we had less than a year to design, gain regulatory approvals, and to build this highly technical medical project.
The project consisted of renovating 45,000 sf of an existing 2-story office building as well as a 2,500 sf addition for two linear accelerator vaults. This highly technical project which included the installation of over $20M worth of medical equipment and cancer treatment technology required extensive coordination, project planning, and precision construction. The project included a Clinical Oncology Suite, Infusion Center with a chemo mixing lab, a Medical Imaging Suite for a CT, an Administration Suite, and a Radiation Oncology Suite which included a PET CT/Nuclear medicine suite, two Linear Accelerators, and a CT SIM.
