Project Details
A+B was selected as the Design+Build contractor for this forward thinking group of physicians. The one demand at the onset of design was “we want a building that portrays the image of being on the cutting edge”.
This innovative design provided a variety of building challenges. All varying planes and interesting angles add to the intrigue of this facility. Any small mistake or minute error in measurements could have easily affected the entire project. The building, which seems to suspend patients in mid-air is exactly the kind of imaginative and still fully functional project A+B specializes in. In addition to all of the typical spaces in a clinical facility, A+B installed a MRI machine, CT scanner and a full array of X-Ray equipment.
This innovative design provided a variety of building challenges. All flat planes and interesting angles, it’s a site-specific project that required real polish. Any small mistake, an minute error in judgement or measurement could have easily affected the entire project. The building, which seems to suspend patients too-long tethered by ailment and infirmity in mid-air, is exactly the kind of imaginative and still fully functional project Allen+Batchelor specializes in.
