Douglas DeVane Batchelor

DeVane Batchelor is a co-owner and serves as President of the firm.

deVane Batchelor is a co-owner and co-founder of Allen+Batchelor Construction Co.  deVane serves as President as well as Executive Project Manager for A+B.  deVane received his degree from the University of Florida School of Building Construction in 1989.  He returned to Augusta and gained experience working for another contractor.  Beginning his career as a field engineer and moving up as an assistant project manager then a project manager.  In 1994, he founded Batchelor Construction Company, and in 1998 John Allen joined as a partner.  The name was then changed to Allen+Batchelor Construction.  Fletcher Dickert joined as a partner in 2016.

deVane, John, & Fletcher work together to manage the day to day operations of the company and act as sounding boards for ideas and strategies on the long term goals and direction of the company. DeVane works with clients from project conception through the warranty period and beyond to ensure the clients satisfaction.

deVane is active in the community serving on the Commercial Builders Council, a board member for Walton Foundation For Independence, Member of the Augusta Exchange Club, Past Board Member of Augusta Country Club, an active donor to the Habitat for Humanity Program, and an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd.  deVane currently resides in Augusta, GA and enjoys spending time with his family, going to the beach, offshore fishing, and playing golf.

John Charles Allen

John Allen is a co-owner and serves as Vice-President of the firm

He is responsible for all administrative aspects of your project and his expertise will be available to you from the day of interview through the end of the warranty period and beyond.

John Allen started in the construction industry in 1983 and founded Allen+Batchelor Construction with deVane Batchelor in 1998. During his career Mr. Allen has worked both in the office and out in the field starting as laborer moving to carpenter’s helper, surveyor, field engineer, estimator, assistant project manager, project manager, senior project manager and vice-president. It is this bottom up “real world” construction experience and his work ethic, which sets Mr. Allen apart.

Born and raised in Evans, Georgia, John received a Batchelor of Science degree in Building Construction, minoring in Business, from Auburn University. Prior to joining Allen+Batchelor, John worked with a large Atlanta general contractor and another mid sized local general contractor on a host of varied construction projects.

John has been involved with, managed and estimated projects that range from a few thousand to over $25,000,000. Mr. Allen is very hands on, deeply involved and committed to his client’s success and satisfaction.

John resides with his wife and daughter in Evans, Ga and is a member of Stevens Creek Community Church. He is a board member for the Columbia County Youth Leadership Program and is the Secretary for the Coalition For Quality Government in Columbia County.  He is also a graduate of Leadership Columbia County.  John is a past member of the Trinity Hospital Board of Directors and the St. Joseph Hospital Foundation Board. He enjoys boating, hunting, and golf.

Vice President of Operations

Fletcher Dickert

Fletcher is a co-owner and serves as a senior project manager.

Fletcher became a partner with A+B in July of 2016; however, he has been with the company since 2007.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science and Management, minoring in Business Administration, from Clemson University.  As senior project manager, Fletcher takes a lead role in all facets of the construction process from pre-construction through the end of the warranty period.  He has experience in the areas of medical, office, governmental facilities, multi-family housing, churches, hardscape, industrial, and higher education as well as complex renovation/addition projects.  He brings an energetic, detailed and customer oriented approach to every construction project.  You never have to be concerned that he is doing anything that is not as you desire or in your best interest.

Certifications:  LEED Accredited Professional, First Aid/CPR, OSHA 30 Hour Certification

Administrative Assistant

Kelsey Nelson

Kelsey Nelson joined the A+B team in 2016 as an Administrative Assistant. She has ten years of experience in administrative duties from working in apartment leasing and being a receptionist at a car dealership.

Kelsey assists in every aspect of the company from accounts payable, accounts receivable, and anything else that may come up during the day. She is eager to learn and offer a hand where need be. Her professional attitude and outgoing personality make it easy for our clients to connect with her when they first call the company.

Kelsey is an avid equestrian and has worked for and ridden under some well-known horse trainers when she lived in California. She enjoys reading, and in 2015 read a total of 132 books! She currently resides in Augusta with her husband, Tyler, her Siberian Huskies, and her cat.

Senior Project Manager

Andy Coffey


Andy Coffey joined Allen+Batchelor Construction in 2023 as a Senior Project Manager. Born and raised in Long Beach, CA, Andy relocated to Augusta, GA in 2008. He received his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management degree from Golden State College in California.

Prior to coming to Allen+Batchelor Construction, Andy worked as a Senior Project Manager for a worldwide general contractor that specialized in the Healthcare Construction industry. He has been involved with Government and Healthcare construction over the past 15 years.

In his free time, he enjoys “trying” to play golf and spending time with his two boys, Kaleb and Deacon.

Jonathan Saul

Jonathan Saul joined Allen+Batchelor Construction in 2020 as an Assistant Project Manager. Born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, with a minor in Business from Georgia Southern University.

Before joining Allen+Batchelor, Jonathan worked as an estimator for a large general contractor. He has estimated both new and renovation projects in the areas of athletics, education, government, healthcare, office, retail, religion, and senior living.

Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys anything involving the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and clay target shooting.

Candace Zipf


Candace Zipf joined the Allen+Batchelor team in 2022 as an Assistant Project Manager.

Outside of work, Candace enjoys riding her bike, and spending time with her boyfriend and two miniature schnauzers, Ziggy and Lucy!

Kip Thornton


Kip Thornton joined Allen+Batchelor Construction in 2021 as a Project Engineer. Before his full-time hire, he served as a summer intern for two summers. His quick thinking and desire to learn various styles of estimating and constructing allowed him to be a great asset to the Allen+Batchelor Team.

Kip has earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science and Management from Clemson University. He helps with scheduling, estimating, material procurement, and job site coordination from start to finish. He is also a certified FAA Drone Pilot and aids in marketing and content creation across all Allen+Batchelor social media platforms.

Outside of work, Kip is a new husband and dad and enjoys spending his weekends relaxing with his wife, daughter, and son. He enjoys expanding his knowledge of building methods by tackling construction projects around the house.

Project Engineer

Mason Wagaman


Mason Wagaman joined Allen+Batchelor Construction in 2022 as a Project Engineer. Prior to his full-time position, he worked as a summer intern. Being an Augusta native, Mason realized that he wanted to seek a full-time position with Allen+Batchelor and better serve the Augusta community. After obtaining a Construction Management degree from Georgia Southern, he eagerly started working for the Allen+Batchelor team.

Outside of work, Mason enjoys spending his weekends at the beach with family and fishing around the coast. He also enjoys playing golf with friends in his free time. Mason looks forward to learning new skills and being an asset to the team.
